Intro to Animation for Kids using Blender

As part of the Parent/Teachers club activities on weekends, I was requested to host a play date at my daughter's pre-school. The age group that I had to cater to was in the 2 1/2 years to 6 years.

Mannequin

Placed a mannequin on the table and posed it. The children were asked to mimic the pose in front of them.

Articulation and Animation using Linkages

The next exercise was to have them pick one linkage (from a bag of linkages) and create various shapes with them. (Parents were present next to their children during this exercise)

Wormstory 

Wormstory is a shortfilm that I created with my colleagues while at Rhythm & Hues Studios. More details are at http://wormstoryshortfilm.blogspot.com

The kids loved the short film and some of them even started crawling like the worm after the film ended. :)

Dancing Alphabets

Finally, the session concluded by a demonstration of moving alphabets realized using the Grease Pencil tool.
